Can a family member or friend teach me to drive?

Possibly.

Nearly all learner drivers who passed their hazard perception, theory test and practical driving test first time were taught by a Driving Standards Agency (DSA) Approved Driving Instructor (ADI). In our experience it is best to start your driving lessons with a qualified driving instructor. Once you have gained some experience with the basics, you may be able to practice techniques and boost your confidence in between driving lessons with a fully qualified and licensed driver at your side. See ‘Getting Started’…

Do your instructors hold the necessary licences and qualifications?

Yes.

All our instructors are Police CRB checked and regularly update their driving instruction skills and techniques. Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is high priority at Sally’s.

What’s your pass rate?

Very good!

At Sally’s we train you to a standard well above the expected level required for your driving test. Our driving instructors will advise when you are ready to take the practical driving test thus ensuring the best possible chance of success.

Is the instructor recommended by a relative or close friend?

Usually.

The vast majority of our pupils come to Sally’s through personal recommendations.

Will the instructor be giving you undivided attention?

Yes.

At Sally’s we provide you with one-to-one driving tuition. You will not share the car or driving instructor’s time with another pupil.

Do I have the same car and instructor for every lesson?

Normally.

We like to keep you with the same instructor and car throughout your course, although on rare occasions an unforeseen circumstance may force a change.

Can you collect me after school, work or college?

Yes.

Sally’s driving instructors offer a flexible service and can collect and return at pre-arranged places of your choice.

Do you work weekends?

Yes.

Many of our instructors work in the evening and at weekends. Please contact us if you have specific requirements.

How long is each lesson?

Sally’s offer a very flexible range of driving lessons to suit your requirements from one hour lessons to intensive driving courses. We recommend as a minimum, lessons of two hours duration since we have found from experience, students tend to reach the required standard in fewer hours overall.

How much are your lessons?

We are not the cheapest, but we do believe we offer the best value for money with our flexible learner driving courses.

What about the cars you use?

We use a number of different makes and models of cars.

All our cars are up-to-date vehicles equipped with modern safety features and dual controls and can be adjusted to suit your stature, important if you are very tall or very short.

Do you offer driving lessons in cars with an automatic gearbox?

Yes.

Whilst we would recommend you learn to drive and pass your test with a manual gearbox, we realise this does not suit everyone. At Sally’s we evaluate your individual needs and offer driving tuition in automatic cars as required.

Which test centre do you use?

Take your pick.

We can arrange for your test to be taken at a driving test centre of your choice.

Do you have male and female instructors?

Yes, both.

What happens if you need to cancel a pre-arranged lesson?

Cancellations are made direct with your Sally’s driving instructor.

For our regular weekly driving lessons, we require 48 hours notice for penalty free cancellations. Please see our terms and conditions.
