Pass Plus is a driver training course specifically aimed at new drivers.
Statistics show that new drivers are more likely to have an accident in the first two years of driving after passing the driving test, due to not having had experience in driving. This is where Pass Plus comes in! The Pass Plus course aims to build upon newly acquired driving skills and knowledge to improve your on the road experience and forward planning.
What is the Pass Plus Scheme?
Designed by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) with the help of insurance groups and the driver training industry, the Pass Plus course is specifically aimed at new drivers encouraging them to continue their driving training. Pass Plus will build upon existing skills and knowledge. It will teach you to anticipate and deal with hazards as driving is now one of your new life skills. Sally’s Driving School supports the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) with the Safe Driving for Life and Arrive Alive Scheme. Sally’s driving instructors will help you to become more confident on the road.
Pass Plus is made up of six practical modules that include:
- Driving in town
- Driving in varyious weather conditions
- Driving on rural roads
- Driving at night
- Driving on dual carriageways
- Driving on the motorway
Anyone who holds a full UK driving licence is eligible to take part in the scheme. You will not have to take a driving test at the end of the Pass Plus course as you will be continually assessed. You must successfully complete all the modules of the Pass Plus course to an achieved or exceeded standard. Although no exam is required a certificate is issued to show your successful completion of the course.
Our Pass Plus Prices
You should bear in mind that driver training will take a minimum of six hours. Therefore you should expect the total cost to be in the region of £150.00. Should more training be required for you to successfully complete the course, this may add to the Pass Plus cost.
When you have successfully completed the training course, you will be given a Pass Plus certificate. You are advised to check for available car insurance discounts offered by the car insurance companies taking part in the Pass Plus scheme.
